How to Take Better Photos – A Mobile Workshop on Saturday September 16, 2017, 9:30am – noon

These days, taking a photo is a snap. But making better photos is where understanding how light, composition, creativity, a little magic, and the 3 primary variables of your camera settings all come together. This workshop is divided between class time and an outdoor photo shoot with a professional photographer helping you improve your photographic skills. This class is for photographers who have completed the Fundamentals of Photography course or who feel comfortable using their camera.

Fundamentals of Photography on Monday September 18, 2017, 6:30pm – 9pm

You have a digital camera. You know how to turn your camera on, have played with the basic functions and settings but aren’t really sure how to use it yet. This class includes an overview of your camera functions, photographic theory, an introduction to light and composition, a photo challenge, and a short guided shooting tour designed to help you to take better photos and apply what you’ve learned.

Composition and Light on Monday September 25, 2017, 6:30pm – 9pm

What makes a great photograph? Is it the subject, the setting, the camera? Nope. It’s more subtle than any of that. Come find out how to take your photography skills and understanding to the next level, and along the way we’ll discover a few things about the secrets of your next great photograph. The class will include a short guided photo shoot.

Digital Darkroom - On the Cheap on Saturday October 14, 2017, 9:30am – noon

You took that great digital photo but it just doesn’t look the way you remembered it. Wondering how you can possibly fix it with software? Some photos are beyond fixing, but most of the time you can do a lot to substantially turn a lemon into lemonade, or just tweak a few things to enhance what you already have. How? That’s what we will be doing in this class. And you won’t need to buy expensive software to help you. Remember, this course is all about the digital darkroom – on the cheap!

Registration begins by contacting Michael by email at the link below.

Remember that individual photography training is also available whenever you'd like to schedule some time to learn about your camera or you have questions about any aspect of photography, even if a formal workshop is not currently scheduled.
